First Pere Ubu 45

One snowy, blowy night after Turkey Day 1975, Crocus delivered a big box of 45 jacket flats to Helen's pad in Cleveland, for us gals to put together. If you own one of these singles, please know that the Linna sisters folded and glued each and every one of them just for you. We sent promos to places like Who Put The Bomp, Creem, Rock Scene, and stuff, and got lots of orders from people who would become our life long best friends. Maybe Davie from the Electric Eels was right in that earlier letter where he said Rocket was doing something weird to his head. Whatever it was, I liked it! Below is an early letter from Peter Laughner, in which he describes the as-yet unrecorded first 45. From small things, as they say. The last page here is the letters column from BDM. Check out the letters from Crocus to Gregg Turner (future Angry Samoan!) Communication breakout!

  7. Noisemaker- Bojax are God. Go ahead and go! Where's Chuck Cleaver? He was the Ohio ambassador in the formative years, and a great one at that. Please let me know you got this, as I need to start deleting messages, it's getting unwieldy.
